When you hear the worst news that the Oncologist can break to you, you just cannot help but feel that dot falling from the sky and landing just beside you. The constant reminder of the end would never leave until one gets to the fullest stage of acceptance – the same stage that took me time to tread. But am now past this stage, and I am living what is left of this life to the fullest without the bitterness.
Getting to this ideal state was greatly aided by the website that my children created for me. It is my online cancer profiler – the documentation that no cancer patient would want to see initially, but would want to have their hands on once the acceptance stage is creeping in. From the time of my diagnosis, across through the surgeries, the different bald – short – middle length – bald hair story was clearly depicted out of the images that were clearly displayed in the elegant galleries. Anyone watching the motion of the slides would feel the drama that I wanted to pass quickly across those who may have cancer patients in their own families or peer circles.
My fifteen year old daughter had to take it upon herself to learn how to make a website just to get this project done for me. I saw her through the whole process and she merely followed instructions in the website builder’s tutorial-like website creation procedure. Wix.com no wonder has over four million websites created till date.
